We invite you to put your love for the county into action by helping us protect its open spaces and natural resources. With only one part-time staff member, RCCA relies heavily on volunteers to accomplish our mission. Our volunteer jobs are tailored to the amount of time and energy of each volunteer. Whether a volunteer can help one hour a month or one hour a week, people can do really wonderful things by offering a little of their time and talent.

RCCA is seeking volunteers to help with the following needs:

• Administrative Projects:

Volunteers are a great help in completing large mailings, monthly correspondence, and compiling educational materials.

• Newsletter:

We send out three newsletters each year for which we are looking for volunteers to write newsletter articles.

• Fundraising Activities & Special Events:

Volunteers are crucial in helping coordinate and prepare for our special events.

The panel of volunteer experts offer their advice when buying and selling state tax credits.

• Public Outreach:

Assistance is needed to help RCCA staff our display table at community events and get the word out about conservation easements.

• Participation in Committees Focusing on:

  1. Preserving farmland and open space
  2. Developing conservation programs for youth
  3. Promoting conservation easements to property owners

To inquire about volunteer opportunities, please contact the RCCA office by phone at (540) 987-9118 or by email at info@rccava.org.

Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.
