About Meadow Grove:

Meadow Grove is located in a picturesque valley on Old Richmond Road (Rt 729), three miles south of Ben Venue.  The farm dates from 1739, when King George III established a land grant, which was given to Lord Fairfax in 1749.

The historic house, which began as one-and-a-half story log structure circa 1820, was built in four separate phases.  The house is constructed of pine logs, weatherboards, and brick.  It has four fireplaces, walnut trim in the living room, and heart pine elsewhere.

Meadow Grove has been owned and continuously farmed by the Massie family for six generations and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and Virginia Landmarks Registry.
