Regardless whether your family has lived in Rappahannock County for generations or the mountain vistas have drawn you here in the recent past, we all share a stake in preserving these open spaces that surround us. In this day of suburban sprawl, how lucky we are to live in an area that still offers dark night skies filled with stars, glimpses of stunning wildlife, roadside stands of local produce, and panoramic mountain views. Each curve in the road seems to offer a new treasure and another reminder why Rappahannock’s natural resources and beauty warrant protection.

RCCARappahannock’s hallmark rural character has been preserved over the years through the hard work, foresight, and planning of many Rappahannock citizens. As development pressures increase, continued advocacy and education about land conservation is essential. The whole community benefits from RCCA’s work because we are working to preserve what makes this county an exceptional place to live – our beautiful farm and forest lands, our livable communities, our cultural heritage, and our quality of life.
